Now that we are self-conscious, we know whom we are, we self-reflect trying to be honest with ourselves.
We know of our talents, our skills, as well as our shortcomings. Now it is up to us to either change or improve upon them or to accept them as they are.

The ability to improve certain aspects about ourselves or to accept them as they are makes us a self-conscious human being.

Through continued self-reflection some opinions may change over time; having liked or agreed with something as a 20-year old may not remain the same for that person at 50 years old. This is a constant process that grows one’s self-trust and strengthens one’s self. I can now trust in myself because I am mindful and conscious about myself, which doesn’t mean that I feel perfect as a human being but I can rely and trust in myself, my decisions and behaviour because I know myself and my ways, which I may and hopefully will want to change due to different experiences over the course of my life.

Having self-trust does not by any measure mean that my decisions are infallible, but that I can appreciate them as my decisions that I can and should keep on questioning and reflecting upon.
